A major focus for Watson Urology is the evaluation and management of urological cancer, including detailed assessment and management of prostate, bladder, kidney, testes, and other urological cancers.
Personalised and individually tailored care begins with evaluation and assessment, through discussions regarding treatment options, and delivery of ongoing management of the condition to ensure the best outcomes and quality of life for the individual.
As part of his focus on urological cancer, Roger Watson is experienced in prostate cancer evaluation, including options for targeted, guided prostate biopsy, all forms of prostate surgery, including robotic radical prostatectomy, as well as prostate radiation treatment with seed brachytherapy.
Another of his major subspecialty focuses is bladder cancer. This includes specific diagnostic studies, surgical and non-surgical management options, including laparoscopic surgery and complex urinary reconstruction.
The focus on sub-specialty urological cancer care includes multidisciplinary clinic interaction with other cancer specialists, particularly in the areas of pathology, radiology, radiation and medical oncology. This occurs in both the private and public Urology Departments at the Mater and Greenslopes Hospitals.
He also practices in other areas of adult urology, which includes all prostate disease, such as benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and lower urinary tract symptoms (LUTS). He has undergone further training in the use of the Greenlight laser as a management option for BPH, as laser photovaporisation (PVP), and with this has gone on to accrue one of the largest clinical experiences with this technology in the country.

Dr Roger Watson (MBBS, FRACS Urol), is a Urologist with a special interest in the urological care of the spectrum of genitourinary cancer (urological oncology) in adult men and women, as well as the management of lower urinary tract dysfunction, including benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
He is a visiting Consultant Urologist at the Mater Private and Adult Hospitals, and Greenslopes Private and North West Private Hospitals, in Brisbane.
